Adult Education

Idaho’s Adult Basic Education program is a free service that can help you improve your math, reading, writing, and English language skills. Whether you are learning to read, trying to pass your GED, get ready for college, get a better job, or learn English, our program is here to help. Our friendly, professional staff will help you figure out what skills you need to work on to meet your goals and get you started on an education plan that makes sense for you.

Apply over the Phone or In Person

All applicants will need to attend an orientation and take an assessment prior to enrolling in the program. The assessment is done in person at the program’s site and will help the program figure out your strengths and areas that need improvement. Based on the results of the assessment, the program will place you in the appropriate classes and services. Visit one of the websites below to find the contact information and orientation schedule for your nearest program.

Must be age 16 or older. Must have skills below the college-readiness level in reading, writing, math, or the English language. (There are no income, employment, citizenship requirements for our program.)
