Provides the tools individuals need to enhance living with chronic pain. The cause may be arthritis, back injury, joint pain, multiple sclerosis, cancer or any other condition. The cause isn’t as important as the choices we can make to alleviate chronic pain, making life more livable. By meeting weekly for 2½ hours for six weeks the community-based peer group participants and leaders work through the most common issues people face: (1) frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation; (2) maintaining strength, flexibility, and endurance; (3) managing medication; (4) communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals. This interactive workshop engages you to identify the choices that can be made and set a personal plan to achieve them. Spouses, family and caregivers age 18+ are encouraged to attend. There are no costs. This is a FREE workshop. Funded partially through the Administration on Community Living (ACL).
