Provides the tools individuals need to enhance living with Type I, Type II or pre-diabetes. By meeting weekly for 2½ hours for six weeks the community-based peer group participants and leaders work through the most common issues people face including diet, exercise, meal planning, sick days, stress reduction and communicating with the healthcare team and family. This interactive workshop engages you to identify the choices that can be made and set a personal plan to accomplish them. Spouses, family and caregivers age 18+ are encouraged to attend! Participants receive a book and relaxation CD. There are no costs. This is a FREE workshop. Funded partially through the Administration on Community Living (ACL).
