Medicaid for the Aged, Blind or Disabled (AABD)

The programs under the AABD Medicaid range of services provide various health care options for individuals who are seniors, blind or disabled (per Social Security standards). Assistance with health care coverage in an individual's home or residential assisted living or long-term care options is available as well as basic health care coverage that provides services such as annual physicals, immunizations, most prescriptions, doctor and hospital visits. In addition, other specialized services are offered for those with special health needs.

Eligibility

Depending on the type of program that an individual is seeking under the AABD Medicaid programs, there are various eligibility requirements. For all programs, the basic eligibility criteria must be met:

  • Live in Idaho
  • Be either 65 or older OR blind OR disabled (based on Social Security standards)
  • Meet certain income guidelines
  • Be a US Citizen or an eligible non-citizen
